Defense Industrial Base Assessment - Counterfeit Electronics

In 2007 the Bureau of Industry and Security's (BIS) Office of Technology Evaluation (OTE) set out to conduct an assessment of the impact of counterfeit components entering the supply chain for Defense Products.  This assessment involved surveying 387 companies five unique segments of the supply chain:
  • Origional Component Manufacturers (OCM)
  • Authroized Distributors
  • Independent Distributors and Brokers
  • Circuit Board Assemblers
  • Defense Prime Contractors and Subcontractors

This report should be "required" reading for anyone involved in the supply chain for electronic components.
