Canada Dismisses U.S. Concern for Counterfeit Parts

According to cbc.ca, the Canadian government has dismissed the U.S. concerns involving counterfeit Chinese military parts.

Although multiple Canadian executives and brokers say that Asian counterfeit is an extreme problem, Julian Fantino, Canada's Associate Defense Minister states that "the checks and balances we have in place in our country are sufficient" and that the Canadian Government has no plans to follow suit.

National Defense Authorization Act: Counterfeit Products

According to the National Defense Authorization Act of the Fiscal Year of 2013 the security of the electronic suplpy chain needs to become tighter in  two areas. One addressing the needs for procuring the components from suppliers that are certified. The other is related to combating counterfeit copmonents.
