Senate Armed Services Committee Releases Report on Counterfeit Electronic Parts

On May 21st, 2012 the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee released a report on counterfeit electronic parts. According to this release, the SASC discovered counterfeit electronic parts from China in a U.S. Air Force cargo plane in also in a U.S. Navy surveillance plane among 1,800 cases of bogus parts.

The SASC shows how extremely vulnerable the defense supply chain is by allowing countrefeit electronic parts to "infiltrate critical U.S. military systems, risking our security and lives of the men and women who protect it".
